Delay between posting to group and it actually showing

We are using the Group API to post messages. There are some cases where it takes DAYS from the API request until it shows up on LinkedIn. What's up?

Here are two examples:
http://www.linkedin.com/groups/5-Social-Media-Trends-Watch-3935194.S.91354176?view=&gid=3935194&type=member&item=91354176 was posted via API on 2012-01-24T21:15:24+00:00 (LinkedIn shows it was posted on Jan 26)

http://www.linkedin.com/groups/Get-inspiring-New-Year-s-4129215.S.91209717?view=&gid=4129215&type=member&item=91209717&trk=NUS_DISC_Q-ttle was posted via API on 2012-01-18T10:06:22+00:00 (LinkedIn shows it was posted on Jan 25)

Hey Daniel:
That is not supposed to happen - the maximum delay is supposed to be an hour. Thanks for proving the information I am passing this on to our QA and engineering team to see what they find.

Hi Steve - I have come to a conclusion that this was actually caused when the moderator taking time to approve a new post. What's confusing, is that the created time of a post is updated to when the post is actually approved, and not when it was submitted to LinkedIn. Can you please verify that this is the case in the above links.

Assuming that this is the case I suggest:
1) adding a timestamp to the post (via api) that will state when the post was submitted (or)
2) not changing the created timestamp between submission and approval
3) adding an API callback to the post submitter to notify that the post has been approved

For number 3, the API will also need to return a post id, which doesn't happen now if the post does not go live immediately.

Hi Steve,

I am experiencing the same issue in that the notification emails announcing a new posting are delayed by, in the last instance, 19 hrs. However, any replies to the original posts are delivered via email immediately.

The frequency of group emails is set to "Daily Digest" with no option to set to individual messages.

Am I missing a personal setting for posts?
