This is not possible. You can only get information on groups for the currently logged-in user.

what is the order in which the API gives us the list of groups ? Is it the order in which the user has set the groups in LinkedIn ?? or is it based on the joined date ? or is it random ?

From your documentation, to get the 15 groups, here is the API call:
https://api.linkedin.com/v1/people/~/group-memberships:(group:(id,name,site-group-url,small-logo-url,relation-to-viewer:(membership-state)),allow-messages-from-members)?count=15&start=0

Now, lets say that a member is part of 35 groups. Are we sure that for each API call, the same set of groups will be returned ? or is there a chance that a mutually exclusive set can be returned ?

Is there a chance to modify the API to return the groups, in the same order as in the LinkedIn UI ??

Hi Siva,

No, there is no guarantee that the set will be consistent like that. I can pass along your request to the product manager, but I wouldn't expect this to happen in the near future so please plan accordingly.

GET http://api.linkedin.com/v1/people/~/group-memberships

Just use the same PHP syntax you use for any other GET API call.
