Mobile user profile URL

Hi there,

What is a user's profile URL in the Linkedin mobile website (i.e. touch.www.linkedin.com)? I am looking for an URL similar to http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=%LINKEDIN_ID%

PS: I tried http://touch.www.linkedin.com/#profile/%LINKEDIN_ID% but I didn't work.

Thank you,

Ozan

We don't support linking directly to the mobile version of the website at this time. The LinkedIn IDs which you receive from the API do not map directly to the IDs on the website, but are rather encrypted versions of the ID.

It would be great to be able to link directly to a mobile-formatted version of a LinkedIn profile. The more we build mobile sites, the more we see need and demand for this capability. Hopefully LinkedIn will make it possible soon.

I would very much like to see this feature as well. It would be helpful if my clients could see a properly formatted version of my publicly accessible LinkedIn profile when they tap a link to it from my mobile website.

Agreed....seems silly that you couldn't link off of a personal WAP to a Linked In profile. I'll just keep using facebook...

Hi All,

Is there a reason you can't direct them to the normal profile link? It should automatically redirect them to the mobile site if they are on a mobile browser.

it doesn't....copy your profile link into your mobile browser...launches the full site. That's exactly the complaint on this board.

Greetings Erik:
Which mobile browser are you using?
Thanks

Is this topic still active/open? I am using a Motorola Droid x2 with the current version of Dolphin HD and my profile shows in FULL site mode... Really need a mobile version...

Android Nexus S with Ice Cream Sandwich. Both the standard web kit browser and the new Google Chrome (mobile) browser show the full site.

Just grabbed my wife's iPhone 4 and same thing.

Stephen, just so you know....I'm trying to direct mobile users to my linkedin profile so when people dial **wully and go to my mobile landing page, it will link to my mobile facebook, linked in and twitter profiles.

Dial the code on your phone and check out your experience vs Facebook and Twitter....

I agree that this is an issue - going to my public profile doesn't work as I'd expect - however this is not an issue with the plugin or javascript framework but with the website. While we can and will raise the issue with our website team, you will get much more traction on this if you report it to the website help folks at http://help.linkedin.com.

Hi all,

Thanks for letting us know which browser. I've tested it on a handful of mobile devices, but didn't realize it wasn't working on Android properly. I personally prefer the full website over the mobile one, even on a small 3.5" screen, but I also realize I am not the normal user either. That all said, as Kirsten mentioned, your best bet is to reach out to the website support team via the link she provided and let them know the browser you are using isn't being properly detected as a mobile browser. We will of course relay the message as well, but the more avenues they get that feedback the more likely it will be addressed.

Hi,

The full site is not working on my iPhone 4s now. It was working great up until yesterday. When I click full site and then browse around it keeps redirecting to the touch.linkedin site. For example, I clicked groups from the full site and it took me to the mobile version. Why is this just now happening? I personally enjoy the full site over the mobile one.

I really hope there is a way to fix this so I can use the full site without it redirecting all the time.

Please help!

Hi Jason,

For non-developer related inquiries, you need to reach out to our customer support team via http://help.linkedin.com. These forums are for developers on our platforms and unfortunately nobody here can help you with your specific issue.

Enjoy!

Hi Erik,

Any news on the ticket - do you have a link to the ticket?

Hi Steve,

There isn't public voting / sharable link, each person is a separate customer support ticket. You need to reach out on your own to customer care via http://help.linkedin.com if you want your voice to be heard and action taken against it. I sincerely hope that you do as the more people who voice their opinion, the more likely action will occur.

Thanks!

Looking forward to the resolution of this question, since I am building a product that needs the mobile site url of linkedin profiles.

Best,
Kelvin

It appears you cannot vote on tickets - so I have raised a ticket on the web team too.
