In Share Button and HTML Image Tag

How do I suppress the image tag source code from displaying when using the "Share on LinkedIn" JavaScript API - in.js.

I was able to edit the image tag reference and delete the information to accomplish this task; however, I would hate for the end-user to have to do this each time.

Any suggestions?

Greetings Michael:
It is unclear from your statement what you are trying to do. Can you please share a page that demonstrates your problem?
Thanks
Steve

We don't support customization of this sort on the plugins - how are you sharing the link?

Hey Steven, an example of the error is on my LinkedIn homepage. The problem seems to be rooted in the javascript plugin - http://platform.linkedin.com/in.js.
Also, follow the inShare link on this page - http://www.ama-assn.org/ama/pub/amawire/2011-december-07/2011-december-07.shtml and you will be able to recreate the "image tag" problem.

Hey Kirsten, please see my comment to Steven and see if that adds clarity. Thanks, Mike

Michael:
Are you trying to suppress the img tag on the pop-up dialog that appears? If so that is unsupported.
If not then I am still not sure what you are trying to do. Can you please try explaining it a different way so I can get a better sense of what you are trying to do.
Thanks
Steve

I'm attempting to suppress the image tag source once the link is shared on my LinkedIn home page.

This HTML source is displayed along with the image. The only way to suppres it is to delete it from the pop-up prior to posting the link.

Hey Michael:
Now I understand. That is odd that there is raw HTML being shared with the share - I have not seen that behavior before. It looks like our crawler is seeing something different on your page when it goes to fill in the blurb.

That said - I am pretty sure what you are trying to do is unsupported. I will send along to my engineering team and see if they have any suggestions.
Thanks

Hey Michael:
One of our engineers caught that you have an img tag in one of your meta fields

Remove that and you should be ok.
