Skill based search on People Search API?

Skill based search on People Search API?

Hi,

I am not able to see skills on the input to People Search API. Is there any way that I can search for people based on their skills or is such an option available for paid services?

Hi Kirsten - with the Skills beta well underway, is there any plan to include Skills an an existing or new API?

Unfortunately we don't comment on future feature plans as a rule. I can say, however, that you can use keywords in search as skills is one of the fields included in that algorithm.

I guess before API, the "Skill" field will be available on "Advance Search" form!

Hi Rahul,

Yep, you are correct. It's very rare (if ever?) something is available via our APIs that's not available via the public website first. As you correctly noted, it's not in advanced search either, so until it's there, it's probably not going to be in the API either. That said, it's possible, I just wouldn't hold my breath.
