LinkedIn Job Credits Partner Program

LinkedIn's Job Posting API enables authorized resellers to post jobs on behalf of customers who do not have a LinkedIn Recruiter contract or prepaid job slots or credits.

Resellers are responsible for collecting payment from the customer per the terms of the LinkedIn Reseller Agreement and will be invoiced for reseller postings on a monthly basis.

Overview

The Job Posting API requires authorization from a client's LinkedIn Recruiter account. To comply with this requirement, reseller partners will be granted a LinkedIn Recruiter contract with job credits, through which to post jobs.

  • Distributor Use Case: API calls on behalf of LinkedIn Recruiter customers with prepaid job slots should include the client's Recruiter contract ID. When a job is posted, it will be "charged" to the client's slot allowance.
  • Reseller Use Case: API calls for customers who do not have prepaid job slots should include the reseller's Recruiter contract ID. When a job is posted, it will be "charged" to the reseller's credit allowance, and the reseller will be invoiced at the end of the month.

The differences between distributor and Reseller API calls can be summarized as follows:

Use Case LinkedIn Recruiter Contract ID Charge for Job Poster Email Address in XML Job Accessible
Distributor (clients with prepaid LinkedIn job slots) Client's contract Client Client (optional) Client's LinkedIn Recruiter account
Reseller (clients paying on a job-by-job basis) Reseller's contract Reseller Client (required) Client's LinkedIn.com account

Note: Authorized resellers may make both distributor and reseller calls using the same partner credentials.

Functions and Parameters

The Reseller API supports the same functions and XML parameters as the Job Posting API.

The differences in parameter requirements can be summarized as follows:

Parameter XML Distributors Resellers
Poster email address job/poster/email-address Optional Required
Contract ID job/contract-id Required for post only Required for post, edit, renew
Tracking Pixel URL job/tracking-pixel-url Optional Not supported

Job Access and Permissions

Reseller postings will behave like jobs that are posted on LinkedIn.com and paid for with a credit card. The end customer (i.e. the member identified in the 'Poster Email Address' parameter in the XML) can log in to LinkedIn.com to view, edit and close their job(s). To ensure proper billing, reseller postings must be renewed by the reseller via an API call – they cannot be renewed by the customer on LinkedIn.com.

Billing and Refunds

Per the reseller agreement, LinkedIn will invoice resellers on a monthly basis. Resellers are responsible for collecting payment from end customers and processing refunds.
