Search person with first-name and last-name versus Search person with keywords

Here is my issue
(I'm using Bill Gates as example, but it works like this for every name I have searched through the LinkedIn API )

REST url request:
http://api.linkedin.com/v1/people-search:(people:(id))?first-name=bill&last-name=gates
returns 110 results

REST url request:
http://api.linkedin.com/v1/people-search:(people:(id))?keywords=bill%20gates
returns 0 result

But reading the API documentation it should return at least the 110 "bill gates" returned with the former request, plus eventually other people with some "Bill Gates" string inside their profile.

What's wrong with my second request?

Thank you

Someone told me the same request of mine was working fine for him, using http://developer.linkedinlabs.com/rest-console/.

I used the same console but I still get 110 results vs 0.

Why? Is it a bug or is it related to the basic account of mine?

I have been having the same problem, and I think I figured it out Alessio. I believe the key is in this sentence from the documentation under People Search -> Facets -> network, "Note: To return results from Groups (A) or Out-of-network connections (O), you must provide both the first-name and last-name parameters." I believe this means searching using keywords will only return 1st and 2nd level contacts, where as searching by first name and last name will return both in network and out of network results.
